Resolution Passed
Herald of Feb. 10, 1922
The Pennsylvania Threshermen’s and Farmers Protective Association passed a resolution condemning Governor Sproul’s administration. They went on record as “unalterably opposed to the extravagant methods of squandering the people’s money in vogue in the present Highway Department, where millions of the taxpayers money is eaten up in extravagant salaries and overhead charges”. They went on to list other examples of wasteful spending and called for the formation of an independent or fusion ticket for the November election to run against Sproul.
The funeral of Lloyd Raymond Glass, aged 8 years and 12 days, was held at the Roaring Spring Church of the Brethren Sunday afternoon. A few weeks earlier he was afflicted with appendicitis and operated on at the hospital. He was getting along well, but then took a turn for the worse. He was the son of Theodore and Elsie (Rhodes) Glass. He had a younger brother, Ralph Wilmer. Their loss is his eternal gain.
