Faith Camp Connects God and the Community

A mini road trip between Pastor Matt Roberts and his wife, Cassie, brought forth a new and exciting event for the youth of our community. During the trip, the pair were brainstorming "how we can outreach the children of our community."

Cassie said, "We wanted to provide Christ-centered, fun-filled events that happen every month."

Faith Camp was born – a place where faith and fun come together.

"It's just a fun evening where we enjoy a meal together, sing and dance, learn about God through Bible lessons, games and crafts," said Cassie.

Since their arrival to Williamsburg, the Roberts have undoubtedly been making an impact with those in the community, and especially the youth.

Cassie explained, "The community means so much to us. Before we move here, we prayed that God would open doors for us to do his work. He certainly did that by opening the hearts of the people that live here. They have welcomed us with open arms and embraced us."

She continued, "The community is our family and our home. We don't see ourselves as outsiders, we view ourselves as Williamsburgers. We are just doing God's work by spreading His love throughout the community."

The next Faith Camp event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church.
