After facing three tough opponents this week, the Central Dragons came out with a 64-60 win over the Bishop Carroll Huskies, while facing losses to the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders and Richland Rams, 75-61 and 55-53.
The Dragons began the week by heading to Bishop Guilfoyle on Monday. The Dragons were not able to triumph over the Marauders, even with high scorers Eli Lingenfelter and Tyrell Rolle's 14 points each. Hunter Smith and Seth Bean both tacked on 13 points for Central as well. Though leading in the first half, Central's JV also fell to the Marauders 42-31. High scorer was Eli Muthler with nine points.
Later in the week, the Dragons headed to Bishop Carroll to face the Huskies. Though slim at times, the Dragons held the lead throughout the game, ending with a nail-biting victory. Lingenfelter led the Dragons with 27 points, while Rylan Daugherty put up 15. Even though the varsity was triumphant, Central's JV was unsuccessful with a 54-29 loss. High scorer was Muthler with 10 points.
The Dragons finished the week with a home game Friday against the Richland Rams. Pushing through a first-half slump, the Dragons trailed the Rams at half. Central's attempts at a comeback were found futile, even though they were able to get within two points of the Rams. Central's high scorer was Lingenfelter with 21 points, while Rolle put up 17. Central's JV took yet another loss, losing 43-39 to the Rams. Nick Garver was the high scorer with 14 points.
The now 9-4 Dragons will face the Central Cambria Red Devils Monday.
