Community Mourns Former Mayor
John Traxler, a former mayor and Chief of Police in Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 14. He was 79.
Pastor Announces Retirement
Thomas Patrick-Joseph Hanks, pastor of the Williamsburg Church of the Brethren and Fairview Church of the Brethren in rural Williamsburg, announced his retirement effective April 9, 2022.
Borough Council Seeking 2-Year Seat
Williamsburg Borough is seeking applications for the 2-year seat on Borough Council. If you live in the borough and would like to serve on council, please send a letter to the borough office indicating your interest. The council will fill the vacancy at the February meeting.
Residents Reminded to Move Cars
During snow events, residents are reminded to move their cars from the streets. Cars can be parked in the following lots when it snows– Rails to Trails, Riverside Park, the Tabernacle Church on East Second street, and the designated area of the Lutheran Church lot. Please move cars from the lots within 24 hours after the end of the snow.
New Restaurant Opening Soon
The Brickhouse Bistro, a new eatery located in the old Eagle’s building, announced it will open within the next few weeks.
Bloom Hair Studio, located next door, is also expected to open soon.
Cash Farm Show Premium Checks
The Williamsburg Farm Show is reminding participants that there are still uncashed premium checks from August’s show. They ask that you cash the check or return it to the Farm Show’s PO box to donate your winnings.
