Richard C. “Rick” Snyder, 74 of East Freedom, passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 28, 1947, in East Freedom, son of the late Thomas Earl and Pauline (Fowkes) Snyder. He married Norma Freidenbloom Oct. 23, 1976, in East Freedom.

He is survived by his wife, a son Corey Ebersole (Jen) of Bakers Summit; two daughters Danielle Snyder of Hollidaysburg and Hilary Winesickle (Jason) of Bedford, five grandchildren: Colton (Megan), Jostin and Cadin Ebersole and Amelia and Emrick Winesickle; granddogs Vinny, Vonna and Frankie and special friends Davey Hollen, Glenn Albright, Jack McCreary, Brad Mock and Pickle Albright.

He was preceded in death by a brother Tom Snyder and a sister Marjorie Rhodes.

Rick attended Central High School and served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company in 2014 after 44 years of service.

Rick attended Smithfield Church, Martinsburg and was co-founder of the Blair-Bedford Dirt Drags. He enjoyed motorcycle and motocross racing, Judo and going to therapy at the George Farris Neurohope Center.

A funeral was held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom (www.lesliemillerfuneralhome.com). Pastor James Snyder officiated. Interment was at Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
