Theresa “Terry” M. Detwiler, 71, of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 30, 2021, at her home.
She was born Nov. 19, 1950, in Ganister, rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Darlene (Lee) Verbonitz.
She is survived by her longtime companion of 37 years, Lawrence E. Risbon; two daughters: Janine M. Heard (Allen) of Billerica, MA and Melanie R. Hughes (Matthew) of Williamsburg; a son, Richard Brian Detwiler in Maine; three granddaughters: Jordan Harnish (Jacob Houck), Billie Harnish and Talia Heard; two great-grandchildren: Bayleigh and Leyton Houck; two sisters: Dolores Durbin of Warriors Mark and JoAnn Baker of Williamsburg; and a brother, Rick Verbonitz of Williamsburg.
Terry was a 1968 graduate of Williamsburg High School and retired as a cook from Cove Forge in Williamsburg with 27 years of service.
She was a longtime member of the Williamsburg Beagle Club and a former member of Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Terry loved spending time with her family, cooking and baking.
A private memorial service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, (www.bolgerfuneralhome.com).
