Homewood located on Givler Drive, Martinsburg, had a New Year's Eve Celebration in the Social Hall. The celebration took place from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Those in independent living attended. Seventy-nine planned to attend.
A committee headed by Ben and Jean Kensinger planned this event. New Year's Eve celebration has been taking place for over 11 years now. Kensinger stated they had not been told they could proceed with the event until one week prior when the state gave its approval.
The event started with appetizers followed by dinner, which was served cafeteria style keeping COVID guidelines in place.
Entertainment was provided by Dan and Gala musical show. This group has been a favorite of Homewood's New Year's Eve parties.
The event was a Hawaiian theme so many were dressed in colorful flowered attire. Around the room monitors showed Hawaiian dancers. There were several places pictures could be taken with the Hawaiian props as the background.
