Putting cows on the front page since 1885.
To the Editor:
So I attended my second Roaring Spring Borough meeting, with not much more to say other than the people should be able to vote, yes Rodney Green has stated that this is not an item that should be put on a referendum simply because it is voted by elected officials. More like because he is the one who wants to prohibit people from enjoying this property. LIABILITY is his cry, well Mr. Green prove it. We want to see your data. I feel the Spring Dam is more of a Liability issue than mountain ground. If you truly are looking out for the borough as a whole, you would think that the money you will get when you sell this land will only provide a short period of less taxes for the people. The ground has been used by people of all ages and all year round for hundreds of years.
So a few disgrunt led people are upset and think the vote should be the people’s vote. Your 18,000 dollar budget for the children is great, however how many children actually used the swimming lessons and not everyone plays baseball. ROARING SPRING PEOPLE need to get involved. Meetings are the second Monday of each month, at the municipal building. Get involved, before you see a housing development, on top of a mountain. It’s fantasy to think the borough won’t do it.
Disgruntled,
Lisa Martz
