Editor’s Note: This is a continuation of the introduction of the four new members of the Williamsburg Community School Board who began their office on Dec. 7, 2021.
Jill Norris
Jill Norris was born in Williamsburg, and lived here until 1995. In 2006, Norris and her family moved back to Williamsburg. According to Norris, she was “always a Blue Pirate.”
Norris and her husband Matt have two daughters, Kendel and Kacie, and three dogs.
Norris works for Omnicell Inc. as a Technical Specialist.
“The students, their parents and my community are my focus,” Norris said of her goals in office. “My goal is to gain an understanding how our school district functions and ask a lot of questions.”
Norris’ number one priority is “to give our town’s greatest asset – our children – the best educational opportunities possible.”
Norris wishes to thank the community for supporting her, Joe Detwiler and Adam Hileman during this year’s election and for showing up to write their names on the ballot.
“We would not be in the office if it was not for them coming out to vote, so thank you all,” said Norris.
Joe Detwiler
For Joe Detwiler, the main goal of his elected office as School Board Director is to “get parents more involved in their children’s education.”
Detwiler, a resident of Williamsburg for over 30 years, and his wife Kayla have three children who attend the school district. Detwiler is also a police officer for the Altoona Police Department. His number one priority is to “move forward and to get things back to normal for the students at the school district.”
Detwiler wishes to thank “all the people who supported me throughout my run.”
