Leading Farmer Very Ill

One of our leading farmers, Peter Clapper, is lying extremely ill with pneumonia. Dr. Nason is the attending physician, and under his skillful treatment we hope Peter will pull through.
The large wooden pillars supporting the dome of the Capitol at Harrisburg are being supplanted by iron columns. While removing one of the old and decaying supports recently the workmen discover a supply of honey. Two buckets were filled with the honey which was distributed among the Hill officials. It was delicious.
The Brethren church at McKee held their entertainment on X-mas Evening. The program was well rendered. At the close the pastor asked for a Christmas offering for the church, and fifty dollars were laid upon the table, all in solid cash.
On Wednesday morning of last week, Miss Mildred Cree and Mr. Lewis Garver embarked together on life’s matrimonial sea. Brother Whitman helped them aboard.
