Early Season Slump for Lady Dragons

The Lady Dragons faced the Westmont Lady Hilltoppers on Wednesday this week and faced the Bishop McCourt Lady Crushers on Friday; both games resulted in losses for Central: 60-52 and 79-43.

In the Lady Dragon's game against the Lady Hilltoppers, Kat Longenecker led Central with 19 points, including three three-pointers. Bailey Heuston scored 11 for the Lady Dragons, putting up one three-pointer as well. Halftime score was 28-27 in favor of the Lady Hilltoppers. Despite their performance, this wasn't enough for the Lady Dragons to come out on top. This led to their next game against Bishop McCourt.

Central's JV prevailed, however, with a 47-22 victory. MacKenzie Rhykerd was the high scorer with 14 points for the Lady Dragons.

The Lady Dragon's game on Friday steered them to a similar fate, however. Kat Longenecker threw up one three-pointer for the Lady Dragons, scoring a total of 10 points. Leah Johnson had nine points for Central as well, but they could not outdo the Lady Crushers and lost. Halftime score was 37-24 with the Lady Crushers leading.

The Lady Dragon's JV were also trounced by Bishop McCourt, suffering a 49-29 loss.

The Lady Dragons sit at 0-4, sorting through their start-of-season struggles as they head into next week.
