During the Dec. 7 reorganizational meeting, Williamsburg Community School Board swore in four new faces after a very popular election in Williamsburg’s and surrounding townships’ history.
Each new school board member will be featured in the Herald over the next few weeks, along with a short bio about them and their goals for their newly elected position.
Adam Hileman
Adam Hileman is a life-long Williamsburg resident and a dairy farmer. Hileman is married to Amy and has three children – Jack, Drew and Ayla. His goals for the school board are for the public to be more engaged and involved with school decisions.
When it comes to priorities, Hileman said, “I want to reverse the trend of public schools being hostage by PDE (Pennsylvania Department of Education, unions and other incompetent government agencies.”
He added, “I know that it is an overwhelming obstacle but feel the freedoms that the tax-paying public are slowly losing are worth fighting for. We need to bring the decisions back to the local level. The community of Williamsburg should be allowed to make common sense decisions on how our school should be run.”
He continued on, saying, “Parents, family, neighbors, and friends know best how to raise our children. We don’t need selfish, corrupt, and immoral agencies telling us how to function.”
Hileman wishes to thank all the citizens of Woodbury Township who made it a point to show up and write his name on the ballot.
“I appreciate it very much and will not let you down,” Hileman said. “Raising children and teaching kids to be productive and free individuals is a team effort and I am honored to represent our community. Thank you.”
