The Greenfield Township Board of Supervisors voted to furlough a township police officer at their Dec. 7 meeting. The move was made in response to budget constraints and a new collective bargaining agreement that is set to take effect between the township and police department in 2022.
The new agreement, which was approved in November, would have added approximately $20,000 in police expenses, supervisor Jordan Oldham stated, something that the township “can’t afford.”
