Richard F. "Hank" Botteicher

Richard F. “Hank” Botteicher, 75, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2021.

He was born July 25, 1946, in Altoona, son of the late Richard J. and Elizabeth (Gibney) Botteicher. He married Lori J. Hubbard in 1970, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Julie Hollobaugh and husband, Matthew of State College; a son, Richard B. “Bo” and wife, Melissa in CO .; four grandchildren: Owen, Mia, Ella, and Louisa; and a sister, Kathy Brown of Altoona.

He graduated from Altoona High School, then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Point Park University and a master’s degree in education from Penn State University.

Hank was a teacher and a coach for Hollidaysburg Area School District before becoming a school administrator for multiple school districts, including Bedford, Mount Union, and Spring Cove. He retired as the Superintendent of Spring Cove School District.

Hank was a member of Simpson Temple United Parish, where he served in various administrative roles.

He enjoyed hunting and golfing, and was an avid Penn State fan. Hank enjoyed spending winters in Florida and traveling with Lori. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Hank was liked and respected by everyone he came in contact with, and was a source of council for those that needed support.

Above all, Hank loved and was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

There will be no public services at this time.
