Putting cows on the front page since 1885.
Williamsburg wants to bring Christmas traditions back to our small town with many activities for the public.
The first event is the Light Up Night, which will be on Dec. 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the center of town, where Biddle's Brewing is now located. There will be a tree lighting ceremony, Christmas carols, hot chocolate and coffee, as well as pictures with Santa!
Following the Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m., there will be a Shop Local event at Riverside Park with many vendors selling home decor, handmade soaps, chocolates, pottery and more. There will also be food trucks, coffee and hot chocolate and assorted baked goods.
Last but not least, have your children write to Santa and send them right here in our town. There is a box located in the middle of town. Writers are encouraged to put their return address on the envelope because Santa may take some time off and write back.
For each letter collected, two anonymous organizations will donate $1 ($2 total) to the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital for Christmas. Letters need to be at the school mailbox or town mailbox by Friday, Dec. 17. This event is sponsored by the Williamsburg Elementary Student Council.
