Cove Cops Back Text Law

Cove Police supported a law that identified texting while driving as a primary offense. The fine for texting while driving was $50, but with costs added, the total would come to $135.50. Officers wanted to convey the message that there is no text worth a human life, and drivers should pull over when texting.
The Martinsburg Municipal Authority’s longtime chairman Robert. M. Greenleaf stepped down after holding the position for close to 20 years. Vice Chairman Jeff Garner was set to assume the chairmanship at the January meeting.
Dick and Judy Ford, missionaries in the Philippines, were beginning an initiative to build two separate live-in facilities for disabled children there.
Approximately 100 Central High School students traveled to Washington, D. C., for an educational field trip. Students toured the U. S. Capitol building and other sites. Thirty students traveled to New York City on a separate trip. On the trip to NYC, they visited sites associated with the World Trade Center and the 9/11 tragedy.
