After the Dragons crushing victory against the Panthers last week, Central faced the Bedford Bisons in a nerve-wracking rematch ending in a 20-14 Dragons victory.
After the Dragons received the opening kick, they traded offensive drives with the Bisons for many possessions until Jeff Hoenstine completed a five-yard pass to Hunter Smith for the Dragons to take an early lead. The Dragons phenomenal defense held the Bisons to one touchdown in the first half, leaving the score tied 7-7 at halftime.
The Bisons scored once again in the third quarter leaving Central down by a touchdown heading into the final quarter. However, the Dragons responded with the strongest offensive push of the game, heading a series of runs by Parker Gregg finished by a six-yard scoring run by Hoenstine to tie the game. Then, after a fumble recovery by Smith, the Dragons continues their ground attack, with a final four-yard run by Hoenstine to take the lead. The Dragon's defense then took control of the game, shutting down the Bison's final chance at victory.
This game left all fans on the edge of their seats up until the final buzzer, but the Dragons ultimately came out victorious.
The Dragons victory now sends them to Slippery Rock University to play Grove City in the state quarter-finals.
