Hite Appointed President

John K. Hite was appointed president of the Martinsburg Community Housing Corp. He filled the vacancy created by the death of David D. Showalter who died in a plane crash earlier in the year. HIte was an engineer with Gwin Engineers of Altoona, and was a member of the Martinsburg Planning Commission.

The classification of the Blair County Children’s Home in Williamsburg was to be changed from a child care shelter to a child care institution. The change was necessary for the home to stay open under state requirements.
