The Herald reported on a new addition that was built onto the family home of Tyler Ritchey in Woodbury. Tyler suffered a back injury in a swimming pool accident and was confined to a wheelchair. The wheelchair accessible addition was funded by community contributions and donations from area businesses.

Penn State professors David Passmore and Rose Baker addressed the Blair County Chamber of Commerce about business growth opportunities in Blair County. Marcellus Shale was noted as one of the hottest economic draws in the state.
