Donald Carl Greenleaf, 87, Martinsburg, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 4, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born April 21, 1934, in Martinsburg, son of the late H. Lester and Kathryn C. (Christner) Greenleaf. On Sept. 3, 1960, he married Janet Louise Hoover in Winchester, VA, and she preceded him in death Oct. 31, 2018.

He is survived by a daughter, Lou Ann Kensinger of Martinsburg; two sons: Michael A. Greenleaf of Martinsburg, and Terry E. Greenleaf (Karen) of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren: Melissa Kensinger, Ryan Kensinger, Brok Greenleaf (Jenna), Britni Greenleaf, Brody Greenleaf, Russell Livering (Tiffany), Adam Livering (Jennifer) and Lucille St. Amand (Sean); six great-grandchildren; four sisters: Ruth C. Adams, Dorothy L. Steele, Susan K. Buell and B. Jane Greenleaf; and a brother, Frank C. Greenleaf.

Don was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael D. Kensinger, and two brothers: Robert M. Greenleaf and William P. Greenleaf.

He was a 1952 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. Don wa a United States Army veteran, serving from 1956 until 1958 attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class. He retired as a lineman from Penelec with over 25 years of service.

Don was a member of Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren and the Martinsburg Sportsmen’s Association, where he served as past trustee. He also loved and served his community in many ways including: serving two terms as mayor for Martinsburg; a member of the Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Company and Fire Police; coordinator for the Emergency Management Services for Martinsburg and North Woodbury Twp .; a policeman for Martinsburg from 1970 until 1974; past member of the former Martinsburg Lions Club; and served as the CB Chief and coordinator for the Martinsburg Sector for the Blair County Citizens Band Radio System.

He loved spending time with his family, serving his beloved hometown of Martinsburg and also enjoyed hunting.

A funeral was held Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at Martinsburg Memorial Church of the Brethren. Pastor Chris Garretson officiated. Interment with military honors was held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
