Robert A. Pressel, 85, formerly of rural Roaring Spring and Duncansville passed away peacefully Tuesday morning Oct. 19, 2021, at Homewood at Martinsburg.

He was born July 26, 1936, in Woodbury the son of the late D. Walter and E. Verna (Imler) Pressel. He married Helen Koontz April 10, 1955, and celebrated 66 years of marriage together.

He is survived by his wife, of Duncansville; two sons, A. Duane Pressel (Brenda) of Roaring Spring and Brian E. Pressel (Lisa) of Centerville, OH; four grandchildren: Jennifer May (Matt) of McKee, Kristi Fitzgerald (Craig) of Hollidaysburg, Dan Pressel (Samantha – special friend) of Lexington, KY, and Maria Pressel of Hartford, CT; four great grandchildren: Meghan Lythgoe (Casey) of Martinsburg, Mattie May of McKee, Caitlin Fitzgerald and Ty Fitzgerald, both of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Doris Replogle of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Romaine Fetter Shaw.

Robert was a 1954 graduate of Woodbury High School. He had served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He retired from Appleton Papers in 1998 after 39 years of service.

Bob enjoyed traveling, hunting, golfing, boating, snowmobiling, and had a special talent for wood-working.

Most of all, he was a loving family man. He was a 50 year member of the Woodbury Lodge F&AM #539, Roaring Spring; the Jaffa Shrine, where he was a member of the Roadrunner Unit and had driven many children to Shriners Hospitals.

A funeral was held Sunday, Oct. 24 held at Christ Church, Roaring Spring. Rev. Joel Kletzing officiated. Interment was made in Dry Hill Cemetery.

Contributions in Robert’s memory my be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children or Christ Church.
