Alan J. Gorman, 60, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 18, 2021, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center after a battle with COVID.
He was born in Roaring Spring, the son of Roland “Sonny” Gorman and the late Rose (Eger) Gorman. He married Karen K. Mapes in 1983.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters: Jessica Kidd of Sproul, Andrea Gorman of Martinsburg, and Samantha Imler (Jordan) of Blue Knob; four grandchildren, Diamond Dotzler, Bella Kidd, Gannon Imler, and Barrett Imler; and seven siblings: Wes Gorman (Jackie) of North Carolina, Irene Kies (Greg) of Delaware, Mark Gorman (Connie) of Woodbury, John Gorman (Melinda) of Altoona, Helen Miller (Robert) of Florida, Guy Gorman (Valerie) of Hanover, PA, and Robin Felix (Brian) of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a brother Paul Gorman.
Alan was a 1979 graduate of Central High School. He was the previous owner of Gorman Mobile Milling and was currently employed at Pleasant View Farm. Alan helped on many local farms for fellow farmers in their time of need.
He loved John Deere Tractors and has collected several, a “4”, “D”, “40”, and a “3020”. He enjoyed splitting wood, golfing, and growing potatoes.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Martinsburg Church of God. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery.
