Pa. Ranks Number 1 in Deaths, According to Horror Movies

CableTV ran an analysis using Rotten Tomatoes' list of 200 best horror movies. It turns out that Pennsylvania is pretty deadly, with 615 total kills helping it rank #1 in our list of top 10 deadliest states. The horror movie with the most deaths in your state was Land of the Dead, adding 490 to your state's total body count.

By region, people living in the Northeast are up to 10 times more likely to get killed in a horror movie.

Here were some other fearful findings:

• California captured our attention as the most killer-capable state with 17 horror movies on the list. Famous flicks like Nightmare On Elm Street, Scream, and The Lost Boys all cast a dark shadow over the Golden State.

• Coastal states made up for 59 percent of deaths, in comparison to 41 percent of coastline states.
