The most recent Dragons’ expedition took them to Shade Central High School to take on the Bishop McCourt Crushers in a Laurel Highlands athletic contest. The Dragons overwhelmed the Crushers, defeating them 55-7.
The Dragons began their obliteration of the Crusaders early in the game with a strong defensive push in the first quarter. After taking over their first possession, they quickly scored via a 43-yard run by Jeff Hoenstine. The Dragons accomplished a total of five more touchdowns in the first half including a 33-yard reception and 40-yard scoring punt return by Eli Lingenfelter, a one-yard reception by Ethan Eicher, a 65-yard run by Hunter Smith, and a 57-yard reception by Josh Biesinger for a halftime score of 41-7.
Entering the second half, Kade Rhule returned the opening kick for another touchdown for the Dragons. Lingenfelter also had another reception in the second half as well, fortifying their 48-point lead.
This triumph over the Crushers leaves the Dragons at 8-0. The Dragons will now travel to Johnstown High School to face the Westmont Hilltoppers next week.
