Roaring Spring

Lee Frederick Yerty of Roaring Spring, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, in Lincoln, NE after a battle with COVID while on vacation out west with his girlfriend.

He was born Feb. 22, 1953, in Roaring Spring, the son of the late Donald Eugene and Margaret Romaine (Ritchey) Yerty. He was previously married to Pauline (Replogle) Ceprish of Bellefonte.

He is survived by three children: Jessica Brubaker of Altoona, Tonya Yerty and husband Frank Zgoda of Bellefonte, and Kyle Yerty and wife Emily of Hanover, MD; five grandchildren: Cayden Brubaker, Corinne Zgoda, Jocelyn Zgoda, Brynn Yerty, and Ari Yerty; as well as his girlfriend of 16 years, Eileen Mulligan of Duncansville.

Lee was a 1971 graduate of Central High School and served in the Army National Guard from 1971 until 1978.

He owned and operated Lee F. Yerty Insurance in Roaring Spring for more than 30 years. He enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley Davidson, and traveling with Eileen. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations in Lee’s memory be given to the American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
