Woodbury Borough has a new borough council member. Wayne Brumbaugh was sworn in on the Oct. 4 meeting by Vice President Shawn Claycomb. The council is still in need of a mayor and now a president, since Kristi Oberman resigned when moving out of the borough.
In old business, a decision on what to do with the Kauffman house property is waiting on a judge ruling.
Sharon Graybill has submitted interest to become the majority inspector. This will be reported on at next meeting.
Lower Alley needs some work, which is slated for spring of 2022.
For the Christmas light project, $3,250 has been pledged and $3,050 has been received. The outlets for the telephone poles are ordered. The borough members are hopeful this will be done in time for hanging the new Christmas decorations on Main Street this year.
Council commented favorably on the traffic situation in the alley at Skinny's Garage. No parking signs have been placed. The council thanks Skinny's and all involved parties for helping to solve this problem.
The borough discussed some possibilities for the use of the COVID-19 funds it has received. Some possible ideas are tar-and-chipping of Lower Alley and storm drainage system work.
Expenditures were given by Barb Wilt and the treasurer's report shows a total balance in general and state aid as $141,459.57. This amount includes two CDs.
Trick-or-Treat will be Oct. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. Rain date will be Oct. 30.
