Power Reunion Christmas Lights Project Approved

The Southern Cove Power Reunion’s October meeting was called to order by Jason Hileman.

The treasurer’s report was given by Amy Mellott. The Hometown Bank museum fund has a balance of $4,236. The bank checking balance is $33,189.

The fall show was discussed in detail and the following amounts of money was taken in.

• Tractor Pulls: $2,989

• Membership $1,321

• Clothing: $7,113

• Basket Raffle $4,655

• Kitchen $9,023

• Demonstration $90

• Vendors $3,567

• Flea/Camping $460

Money still needs to come in from three vendors and Forever Media and Lancaster Farming Advertisement still need to be paid.

There were 299 hooks done at the show. There were positive remarks from many community members. The community came together for these events.

Next year, John Deere will be featured. The club is searching for a John Deere tractor, preferably restored and ready to go. They will buy it to be raffled off. If you have one or know of one, please contact a member.

Price changes to rent the grounds will go into effect in January 2022. This is for any new booking not already scheduled. The price will be $200 a day or $500 a weekend.

Bid for improving the sound system at the track and main building will be sought.

Barbara Koontz and Beverly Long approached the members and presented a proposal for the Christmas season this year.

They will begin to put together lights on the grounds from various organizations. At this time, it would be a drive-through light show that would take place the weekend of Dec. 10 and 11 and the weekend of Dec. 17 and 18.

The next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. for board members and 7 p.m. for members.
