Nason Pres. Gives Report
Herald of Oct. 14, 1921
The annual report of Mrs. E.G. Bobb, president of the Ladies’ Association of Nason Hospital, showed a year of much activity. Painting, inside and out, and repairs to the building, new furniture at the nurses’ home for 20 more students, building porches and cemented driveway, cost $4,576. Housekeeping and advertising suppliers made a total expense of $6,000 for the year. In gathering from baseball games, tag day, holiday bazaars, Week of Prayer offering and dues of $200 totaled $4,155. Thirty-two new members were added, making a total of 165. Daily patient treatment cost per patient was $2.71. State appropriation at this time was $6,300. The Ladies’ Association was credited for keeping the hospital in operation, and Dr. Nason for assuming the larger part of each years’ deficit.
Roaring Spring Department Store, advertised as “The Cove’s Greatest Store,” had leading styles in men’s suits for $25 to $37.50 and women’s coats $19.75 to $58.
