The Village at Morrisons Cove
Richard B. “Dick” Butler, 90, of The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away early Tuesday morning, Sept. 14, 2021, at The Village.
He was born Jan. 22, 1931, in Roaring Spring, a son of the late Bruce T. and Elizabeth A. (Bailey) Butler.
He married Audrey Gahagan on Dec. 24, 1949, at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of The Village; five children: Cheryl Gladhill (Harvey) of Mount Joy, Rick Butler and Mike Butler (Jeanette) all of Roaring Spring, Sharon Rodemaker (Andy) of Dillsburg, and Jennifer Helsel (Daren) of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Nancy Musselman of Roaring Spring and Donna Zimmerman of Hagerstown, MD.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Replogle and Patsy Wierman.
Dick was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Woodbury Lodge #539 F&AM and the Jaffa Shrine.
He retired from Appleton Papers in 1991 and was a 1949 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. Dick also served as the Mayor of Roaring Spring Borough from 1970-82.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family.
