The Central Dragons opened the 2021 varsity football season with a solid 41-28 road win over Chestnut Ridge. Junior quarterback Jeff Hoenstine connected on 20 out of 27 pass attempts for 334 yards and 5 touchdowns. Junior Eli Lingenfelter snagged three TD receptions, leading the team with 159 yards receiving. Senior Devon Boyles and sophomore Hunter Smith both hauled in touchdown catches, while senior Parker Gregg added a touchdown on the ground. Gregg and fellow senior Ethan Eicher led the defense with 8 tackles each.
Central will host Forest Hills on Friday, Sept. 3.
