Roaring Spring Church Encourages Others to Join 9/11 Remembrance

Pastor Evelyn Madison of Trinity United Methodist Church in Roaring Spring is spearheading a 20th anniversary Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony.

“We wanted to plan a time to remember together as a community,” said Madison. “We want to honor those who died, the first responders, and everyone else who helped out that day and the weeks following.”

The church is asking other local churches to ring their bells at significant times throughout the day. The times are as follows:

• 8:46 a.m. – North Tower hit

• 9:03 a.m. – South Tower hit

• 9:37 a.m. – Pentagon hit

• 9:59 a.m. – South Tower collapses
