Innkeepers Ready for Public

Atty. Simon H. Sell of Bedford completed the sale of the three-story mansard-roofed house on Main Street, Woodbury, to Mr. And Mrs. E.K. Witters. Their plans were a first-floor café and provisions to entertain travelers. To prove they meant business, the sign they hung that week was inscribed “Highway Inn – All modern conveniences.

Owners of Fairview Cemetery lots who were in arrears two years for upkeep and care were requested to pay promptly or be placed for collection.

Woodbury township and borough schools were to be open Sept. 12 for a term of 7-½ months with the following teaching force; Hickory Bottom, J. Blair Myers; Mt. Joy, Louis Croft; Dry Hill, Grace Brown; Pleasant Hill, Lois Stayer; Shady Grove, Pearl Frederick; Hoover, Mary Kyper; Pike, Verna Kaufman; High School, Prof. Percy Walker, principal; Ever Replogle, grammar room; and Alma Kyper, primary.
