The 2011-12 school year is off to a strong start in the Morrisons Cove Area. Students in the Williamsburg Community School District jumpstarted the new school year among the four area districts by starting Monday, Aug. 28. Tuesday saw the return of students to the classrooms in the Spring Cove and Claysburg-Kimmel districts. The Northern Bedford School District began its 2011-12 year Wednesday.

The 81st annual Claysburg Community Farm Products Show will be held Sept. 6-10 at the former Queen Grade School building. Feeling the effects of the cuts in funding for state fairs in Pennsylvania, Claysburg Farm Show officials are relying on sponsor donations and proceeds from the annual chicken barbeque to help financially.

The Woodbury Area Community Center, at the Northern end of Woodbury Borough, Bedford County, is seeking to expand its presence in the community by increasing use of the center and possibly offering additional services.
