A Williamsburg man pleaded guilty in federal court in Johnstown to a charge of possession with intent to distribute multiple schedule I and II controlled substances.
Jesse Daniel Ginter, 40, entered the guilty plea on July 23 before United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson.
According to U.S. Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman, on March 12, 2018, Homeland Security agents executed a federal search warrant on Ginter’s home and recovered numerous controlled substances, including furanyl fentanyl, methoxyacetyl fentanyl, cyclopropyl fentanyl, U-47700, AMB-Fubinaca, carfentanil, marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
Kaufman said investigators also recovered firearms, ammunition, cash, a digital scale, stamp bags, and other materials to indicate drug trafficking from the home.
Ginter is scheduled to be sentenced by Gibson on Nov. 23. Kaufman said the law allows for a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of not more than $1,000,000, or both.
Under federal sentencing guidelines, the sentence handed down will be based on the seriousness of the offense and Ginter’s prior criminal history.
Ginter was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 8, 2020, on one count of violating federal narcotics laws.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigation, and the Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation that led to Ginter’s indictment.
