South Woodbury Twp. Hears From Fire Dept. On New Truck Purchase

Money from the Resolution on American Rescue Plan Act will provide the township with $109,508. This money has guidelines on what it can be spent on. The money must be appropriated toward something and completed by 2026. It cannot be used on roads or bridges.

The roadmaster’s oral report was given by Rick Musselman. He reported mowing, a tree removed off the road, potholes patched, and Mulley Lane completed.

With the Don and Dorothy Replogle Revocable Trust Agreement, the lot line is permitted to be enlarged to two acres. The rest of the ground will be sold for farm ground. This is approved if PennDOT approves the driveway permit.

The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) oral report was given. There were three memebers at the meeting.

The deed has been received on the property beside the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The International truck needed a wiring harness, which has been obtained. Airlines are done.

There will be a 2021 Bedford County Anniversary Parade on Sept. 11. It will mark the 250th anniversary of Bedford County.

PSAT’s regional forum will take place on Aug. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Harrisburg.

Act 65 of 2021 was passed and will go into law on Aug. 29. This means the agenda for the monthly meeting must be posted on the township building before the meeting.

Southern Cove Volunteer Fire Company Agreement provided information to the township. The fire chief reported they will purchase a new tank truck at the price of $289,725.

The Director of Elections sent an email that all handicap areas must be clearly marked with blue lettering or paint.

The Sewer Management Program reported there was 14 inspections and 1 perc.

Monthly bills and treasurer’s report was reviewed at the August meeting. Total liabilities and equity is $2,399,670. Wastewater treatment plant total liabilities and equity is $6,836,707.
