Cove Boys Form Poultry Club

Six boys of Morrisons Cove High School became the first Thousand Dollar Poultry Club in the state, reaching their goal in nine months of the year. Together they set out to clear $1,000 above feed cost on projects for one year and combined profits of $1,084 by July, three months ahead of schedule. The six were Ray Benner, Elvin Bridenbaugh, Kenneth Stern, Ira Stoltzfus, Paul Rhodes and Clair Weitzel. The club gathered 4,153 dozen eggs from their flock of 500 hens.
