Ethel Mae Saylor, 91, resident of The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the home.

She was born July 29, 1929, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Paul C. and Hannah K. (Leidy) Roub. On Dec. 24, 1948, she married Clair F. "Chip" Saylor and he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1995.

She is survived by four sons: Clair Robert and wife Rhonda, Christian P., Bruce A. and wife Zena, and Bryan S. and wife Elizabeth; 10 grandchildren: Julie (John) Scott, Brandon (Lisa) Saylor, Melinda Saylor, Stephanie Saylor, Stacy (Matthew) Feathers, Chelsea (John) Long, Natalie Saylor, Aaron Saylor, Sarah Saylor, and Kathy Beard; eight greatgrandchildren: Jerrica, Tabitha, Hannah, Kyle, Reese, Preston, Kaylee, and Lucas on the way. She is also survived by three sisters: Doris Stoner, Genevieve Gathagan, and Joyce Lovell.

She was preceded in death by a grandson: Joseph Saylor and sisters: Nancy, Pearle, Martha, and Ruth.

Ethel was a 1947 graduate of Bellwood Antis High School and retired from the Williamsburg Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria for many years.

She was an avid reader and studied her Bible every day. Ethel loved crocheting and was known through the years for all the beautiful blankets she made.

She was a life member of the Yellow Springs Lutheran Church and volunteered with the Willing Workers. Ethel was always one to help people out of the kindness of her heart and never wanted anything in return.

A funeral was held Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, at the John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc. Williamsburg (www.bolgerfuneralhome.com). Pastor Betty Royer officiated. Interment followed at Yellow Springs Cemetery, Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Williamsburg Public Library, 511 W. Second St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
