Donna Elaine Gearhart

Donna E. Gearhart, 92, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021.

She was born May 31, 1929, in Altoona to Russell and Leah (Mater) Fleck. She married Donald Gearhart Jan. 23, 1951. He preceded her in death Jan. 1, 2016. Donna was also preceded in death by sisters Marian and Ruth.

She is survived by a son, R. Alan Gearhart and wife Lisa; three granddaughters: Melissa Brumbaugh (Keith) of Martinsburg, Laura McKelvey (Jeff) of Cameron Park, CA, and Beth Stoltz (Jay) of Roanoke, VA; and three great-grandchildren: Faith, Heather and Thad Brumbaugh.

Donna was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

She was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1950 graduate of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from nursing in 1985. Donna served as president of the local Lutheran Brotherhood chapter and served on a number of committees for Dairylea Milk Cooperative, Blair County Cooperative Extension and PA Dairy of Distinction. The Gearharts were named “Farm Family of Blair County” for 1989.

In 1977, Don and Donna began their long awaited dream of traveling. They visited most of the 50 states.

Donna truly loved her family’s farm, her traveling experiences and her family.

A funeral was held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg. Pastor Traci Marriott officiated. Private interment was held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
