Get your folding chairs ready! Live music in Hollidaysburg has returned with free outdoor concerts provided by the Hollidaysburg Borough, Hollidaysburg Arts Council, Hollidaysburg Community Band and the Altoona Symphony Orchestra.
Live concerts kicked off Thursday, July 15, with a concert in the Downtown Live concert series. It was held on the Diamond in Hollidaysburg with the sounds of local classic and Southern rock band Bone Jacked.
Next, the Arts Council will bring Uptown Jazz to Canal Basin Park Sunday, July 18, at 7 p.m. (rain date: Aug. 1).
Hollidaysburg Community Band will perform at Canal Basin Park Sunday, July 25, at 7 p.m.
Outdoor concerts will continue in August with the Altoona Symphony Orchestra’s Discovery Concert string quartet series, held at Canal Basin Park Thursday, Aug. 12, at 6 p.m., followed by the Altoona Youth Orchestra’s string ensemble concert held at Canal Basin Park Sunday, Aug. 15. at 2 p.m.
The second Downtown Live concert on the Diamond will be held Thursday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m. featuring local Celtic rock band Full Kilt.
Enjoy the full Altoona Symphony Orchestra at Canal Basin Park on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 6 p.m. (rain location: Hollidaysburg Junior High).
There will be a special Labor Day concert by the Hollidaysburg Community Band at Canal Basin Park Monday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m.
Fill out the summer with the last Downtown Live concert on the Diamond in Hollidaysburg Thursday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. with Felix and the Hurricanes.
All concerts are free and open to the public.
