Water Shortage Discussed

The water shortage at Spring Cove Junior High School was discussed by the designers of the school, the school board and Roaring Spring Borough Council, but no solution to the problem was found.

Severe winds accompanying a thunder storm caused damage to trees and gardens in Martinsburg area.

James Weyant, 3, son of Mr. And Mrs. James Weyant of Martinsburg RD 2 was in Mercy Hospital with a compound fracture of the right leg suffered when he was struck by a truck in the East Freedom area.

Burglars hit four business places in southern Morrisons Cove and a vehicle parked in a private drive in Martinsburg. Burglarized were Ebersole’s IGA Store, R.T. Hall’s Sunoco Service Station and Bernard Johnson’s American Service Station, all in Loysburg, and Charles E. Guyer’s grocery store in Woodbury. The car burglarized belonged to Harold E. Detwiler.
