Hazel Viola Houp

Williamsburg

ident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away Monday morning, June 28, 2021, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

She was born September 12, 1935, in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Annie B. (McCall) Snively. She married Herbert C. Houp January 24, 1953, in Ore Hill.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years; two sons: Steven C. Houp of Woodbury and Barry E. (Robin) of Ore Hill; three grandchildren: Jason Houp, Justin Houp (Chelsea) and Shane Houp; a sister, Betty A. Smith (Dennis) of Venice, Fla .; and a brother, Donald E. Snively (Sherry) of rural Roaring Spring.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; a sister, D. Jean Shriner; and a brother, Robert B. Snively.

Hazel attended Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. She was primarily a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed crocheting, traveling, doing puzzles and playing bingo.

At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing or service. A private interment will be held at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Hazel may be given to Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
