The Herald published its first ever color picture, an American Flag for Independence Day, using red and blue ink as well as black ink on the front page. The paper also was the biggest in the Herald’s 12 years with 12 pages instead of the usual four.
Calvin Treese of Royer, while driving on Thursday, went over a large stone, throwing him out of the car and cutting a large gash in his head.
