Sick Creeks

The big time for fly-fishing to hatches of aquatic insects known as sulphur mayflies should occur during May and early June on Clover and Piney creeks. These hatches are important sources of food for trout during the spring. However, Clover and Piney creeks have problems.

Clover seems to have more problems than Piney. A half-dozen years ago, some pollutant oozed through the lower end of the stream, killing nearly all of the crayfish, a major food source for trout.
