Woodbury Borough Continues Plans For Christmas Lights

Woodbury Borough held its monthly meeting.

The treasurer’s report was read. There is $104,409 in the general fund.

There is currently no mayor.

The members discussed the money they will get in the future from COVID-19. Nothing is for sure at this time, but some money may go to the water authority and sewer authority for improvements.

Ron Dibert attended the Bedford County Association of Municipalities meeting and discussed concerns about ATVs on the public roads. Some federal and state laws are looking to allow ATVs on public roads. It was advised not to enact this in the borough due to legalities. If an accident occurs, the borough may be held accountable for allowing this.

A majority inspector is still needed.

A letter had been sent out to businesses in the Borough asking for pledges to help with the cost of installing Christmas lights through town. The cost would be about $1,200 dollars a pole. The borough would like to start with five decorations this year and expand this each year. To date, they have over $1,800 dollars.

The borough has gotten complaints about the alley being blocked at different times at Skinny’s Garage. Skinny’s are trying to keep this area open and are aware of the problem.
