Dr. Jeffries to Begin Practice

Dr. Richard Howels sold his dentistry practice to Dr. Clark Jeffries in order to concentrate on the study of orthodontics.

Max L. Baker of Roaring Spring was elected chairman of the board of directors for the Garver Memorial YMCA, succeeding Charles A. Gregor, who resigned to move to Wisconsin.

The Northern Bedford School Board hired three teachers for the 1971-72 school year. Ralph Scott, Dwight Kennedy and Lind Mummert.

Rev. James N. Singer of Baltimore Md. Addressed the 218 Central High School graduates at commencement exercises.

Lois Ann Glass was elected president of the Roaring Spring Junior Women’s club.

Donna Camaroto was crowned “May Queen” in a ceremony at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg

New Enterprise Church of the Brethren beat Yellow Creek, 6-3, in Northern Bedford County Softball league action to move into a tie for first place.
