Roaring Spring Woman Placed in Jail Following Multiple Assault Charges

A Roaring Spring woman is facing multiple assault related charges after being arrested three times by two separate police agencies.

Jamie J. Detwiler, 18, faces a preliminary hearing on May 20 in front of Martinsburg Magisterial District Judge Andrew Blattenberger for all three arrests.

According to police reports, the first incident occurred on April 9 when Hollidaysburg State Police were called to a home along Cabbage Creek Road, Taylor Township, to investigate an assault by vehicle.

According to police, a female juvenile reported that she was standing in the driveway when a vehicle driven by Detwiler pulled into the driveway and swerved toward her, running over her right foot. Police said Detwiler then began yelling at the juvenile and told her to kill herself. Police said the juvenile’s right foot had dirt and tire marks on it along with redness and swelling.

When police questioned Detwiler, she allegedly told them that the juvenile began yelling at her and her boyfriend and that when she tried to leave the driveway, the juvenile threw stones at her vehicle, causing minor damage.

On April 19, Roaring Spring police were called to investigate damage done to a vehicle belonging to the mother of the victim who allegedly had her foot run over by Detwiler.

According to police, someone had scratched profanity into the vehicle’s paint using a sharp object. Police said Detwiler’s boyfriend had told an officer that Detwiler was the one who committed the act of vandalism in the vehicle, causing approximately $2,800 in damage.

On May 4, Hollidaysburg State Police were called to the Cabbage Creek Road home to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance between Detwiler and her boyfriend.

According to police, when they arrived at the home they found “obvious signs” of a disturbance, including a knife on the floor, a broken light fixture, a billiard ball thrown through a television, a broken DVD player, a sharp cutting tool in the wall and several pool sticks scattered throughout the living room and kitchen.

According to police, Detwiler’s boyfriend told them that he and Detwiler began arguing because he was “sick of lying” to the police for her. Detwiler’s boyfriend told police that she was angry at him for talking to the police earlier and that she began throwing items throughout the house causing significant damage.

Police said Detwiler then began striking her boyfriend with pool stick and threw a billiard ball at him, striking him in the arm. Police said Detwiler then hit her boyfriend in the head with a DVD player and a cookie sheet. Police allege that Detwiler then threw a knife at her boyfriend and then grabbed a loaded rifle and threatened to shoot him. Police said the boyfriend was able to get the gun away from Detwiler and lock it in a safe.

Detwiler is in Blair County Prison in lieu of $60,000 bail.
