Nason Dedicates New Wing

Dale W. Detwiler, president of the board of trustees at Nason Hospital, was the featured speaker at a dedication ceremony for the hospital’s new wing. Several hundred persons toured the new facilities at an open house.
Lester H. Holsinger, 83, a leader in financial and civic affairs in Martinsburg, died on May 6.
The Northern Bedford School Board gave tentative approval to a three-mill tax hike in the district.
Ronda Corle was elected president of the Shamrock 4-H Club in Woodbury Township, Blair County.
Helen Metzler of Curryville was presented with the Mother of the Year award at a mother-daughter banquet held by the Curryville Church of the Brethren.
Central Cove FFA members planted 15 red oak trees at Memorial Park. The Trees were donated by the Mid-State Bank & Trust Co.
Excavation began on a new baseball field at the Spring Cove Junior High School.
