Patton Deserves Another Term

To the Editor:

As a former deputy Register of Wills & Recorder of Deeds, I worked closely with the prothonotary’s office for 5 years and understand how important it is to have competent, professional leadership in that office. The county’s “row” offices are non-political by nature and designed to perform a specific role in the overall county government system. The prothonotary is responsible for maintaining thousands of records for the courts, providing service to the judges in various ways, assisting attorneys and paralegals with filings in that office, and helping the public access records and obtain marriage licenses. Our prothonotary, Robin Patton, has built on the records-management improvements made over the years and makes certain the responsibilities of her office are fulfilled accurately and on time. Robin Patton is the only qualified candidate for prothonotary. She has earned the respect of those who use the office and deserves another term.
