Martinsburg
Nancy A. (Rearick) Uber, 88, of Martinsburg, passed away late Friday, April 23, 2021, at UPMC Altoona.
She was born Oct. 28, 1932, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, daughter of the late George and Margaret (Kauffman) Rearick of Martinsburg. She married Milo C. "Bud" Uber July 6, 1968, in Newville, Cumberland County, where Nancy was raised. Bud preceded her in death June 25, 2015.
She is survived by three daughters: Susan Milan (Maurice) of Temecula, Calif, Mary E. "Betz" (Ibby) of Gilbert, Ariz. and Michelle Kletzli (Matthew) of Fort Myers, Fla .; two step-children: Steven (Brenda) Uber of Buffalo Mills and Cynthia Uber of Tucson, Ariz .; two granddaughters: Susannah and Julie in Calif .; two step-grandchildren: Veronica Uber Curely and Edward Iibara II; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was a 1950 graduate of Newville High School and a 1954 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. Nancy later earned her master's degree from Eastern Michigan University.
Nancy was employed as a home economist for Pennsylvania Power & Light Company, Harrisburg and also taught at several junior high schools in both Pennsylvania and Michigan.
She was an active, longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church Martinsburg and a member of the Martinsburg Boosters Association.
Nancy and her husband spent many happy hours flying together as pilot and co-pilot, out of the Reading and Martinsburg Airports. She also enjoyed antiquing, cooking and walking her dog, Sammy.
There will be no public viewing or funeral service and a private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
Memorial contributions in memory of Nancy may be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 115 E. Penn St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
