SC Agrees on Teachers’ Pact

The Spring Cove School Board and its teachers reached an agreement on a two-year contract but were still at odds on a no-strike clause. The agreement called for a $100 increase in salaries in addition to the $300 increase required by the state salary schedule.

The Agway egg packing plant near East Freedom and the Schulman’s department store were burglarized on the same night. Loss in the two incidents was set at over $930.

Rev. Samuel Givler Jr. resigned as pastor of the Martinsburg United Church of Christ charge.

Six members of the Replogle High School Class of 1921 were honored at the Replogle Alumni banquet.

Roaring Spring native Barry Grace was named the outstanding teacher of the year in Tennessee.

The Central High School majorettes placed second at the Central Keystone Majorette competition at Lock Haven.

Private Jeryl Green of Roaring Spring was named the trainee of the cycle at Ft. Dix. N.J.
